About

Hello there! We’re the Eckert’s

We’re newlyweds who love the Lord and are living in a 1920s Colonial Revival fixer-upper home.

We decided we wanted to document and blog our home renovation journey and early home happenings for posterity’s sake! 🙂 And to help us hopefully see the progress that we will make over the years!

Along with remodeling our 1920s house, we’re also striving to create a home together in a way that honors the Lord. This means we’ll also be sharing our favorite home-cooked recipes, some homemaking tips, and other happenings of our home as we build our life and family together.

Our goal is have fun with this blog and hopefully inspire you to embrace whatever home God has given you to steward and cherish!

As a new wife, I (Olivia) am beyond excited to make a home that my husband wants to come home to! I think the most important way of doing that is by having a joyful and peaceful home. Even though clean floors, folded clothes, and healthy dinners are a bonus blessing, if I’m not creating a peaceful, live-giving home, those things really don’t matter!

Home is more than what’s seen – the nice pillows that sit on the couch, the pretty pictures on the wall, and the cozy rugs that warm up the space. Instead, that sweet feeling of being at home stems from the people who make it a place of love, safety, rest, and encouragement. I’m so blessed to have come from a home like that, and I want to build one of our own!

We pray Psalm 127 might be the anthem of our home!

So, here’s what you can expect to find on our blog:

  • From scratch recipes!
  • Tips to save you money on groceries, home goods, and more!
  • Old home renovation tips and ideas
  • Cleaning tips and tricks
  • Homemaking skills from cooking, baking, dehydrating, fermenting, and any other hobby I decide to take on 🙂
  • Faith-based encouragement for homemakers

We’re so glad you’re here, and we hope you’ll follow along to see the current happenings around our home!

Blessings,

The Eckert’s
